The children in Beech Class were the smallest I’ve come across. They were so minuscule, that if three of them stood on one another’s shoulders, they’d barely see over the top of a pencil.

But size was no barrier to ability: Those ant-sized artists staggered me with their creativity and competence. I’d pre-cut all my resources in case they had trouble with scissors, tape or glue but they were soon snipping and pasting away with gusto.

Within 60 minutes we had venomous snakes dangling from our arms, a menagerie of doggy face masks and a jumbo animal drawing with virtually no white space showing between the orange anteaters, purple lobsters and green giraffes.

I hope I didn’t step on anyone while I was there…
